Road to California

"Road to California 2011"

Thank you sweet friends for an amazing show this year!! It was good to see so many of you again... as well as meet new quilters!

My dear friend and long arm quilter standing here with me.... Pam Dransfeldt... she is a very talented long arm quilter and has quilted many of my quilts for me. Yes, she does do custom orders... email me for her information.

Thank you again for an outstanding show... we are already planning for next year.

P.S. My brown and pink quilt hanging in the corner is currently featured in "Keepsake Quilting Magazine"... how exciting is that!?!

Hi Sheri! I met you at your booth and fell in love with your dolly dress quilt. You gave me your last panel of 6 dresses at the end of the day Sunday. My 3-year-old daughter and I have been embellishing them together and having a great time. My favorite so far is a tulle, pom-pom, and beaded skirt we added onto one of the yellow ones.

I cut them all apart into squares, quilted the white parts, and plan to bind 3 of them into 3 mini quilts and turn 2 more of them into a pillow. I'll send pictures. :)

I'm so glad I came by your booth and was inspired to start this fun project.

I'm so excited to learn about this program and I can see the possibilities are endless.  I would begin with a photo of my 2 grandsons that I have always wanted to make into a quilt.  Another of our youngest grandson blowing bubbles and even another photo of his older brother playing baseball.  I have actually played with these photos in Photoshop attempting to come up with something that I can work with.  In fact, I have a huge file of photos of nature scenes, baby robins, flowers from my garden and some very cool photos I have taken around our small town all with some day' quilts in mind.  Oh, I hope my luck is with me this time, thank you!  The frames are awesome.

My best friend is a long arm quilter. She has had a quilting machine for about 6 years. Before then, I would try to quilt my own quilts, if they were baby quilts or wallhangings, and, if they were larger quilts, I would take them to a quilter that did pantograms. Pantograms serve a purpose, but I love it that my friend does free motion quilting (no pantograms), and she does it without a computer. I could never make my quilts look as pretty as she makes them, so I just take everything to her; big or small. Natalia does such beautiful quilting. I can’t wait to see the rest of your quilt.Busy Little Quilter recently posted..
